Jared Redick

An award-winning, sought-after master teacher and coach working with ballet companies around the world. A third-generation ballet dancer, his perspective is rooted in the traditions of classical ballet while looking towards new evolutions in contemporary work. He currently serves as a full professor and Assistant Dean of Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), adjudicator with YoungArts, and juror and master teacher with Youth America Grand Prix.

Over a 20 year performing career, Jared danced as a soloist with Boston Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and the Suzanne Farrell Ballet dancing leading roles ranging from the well-known classical ballets to neoclassical and contemporary repertory. He worked with prominent contemporary choreographers such as Jorma Elo, David Dawson, Helen Pickett, and Mark Morris.

After retiring from the stage, Redick transitioned to directing and teaching at Boston Ballet, going on to share his passion for ballet and dance at prestigious institutions around the world. His experience includes serving as guest ballet master/company teacher for companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Finnish National Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, and Nashville Ballet.

In 2013, he assumed the role of professor and Assistant Dean at UNCSA. His leadership continued as he served as interim dean of the School of Dance during the 2020–21 school year. In 2022, he was honored with the Excellence in Teaching Award and the inaugural Academic Leadership Fellowship while completing an MFA in Dance at Hollins University.
